Starting with 1st of March 2017, the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) from France will no longer cover Monaco.
The roaming service will be offered through Monaco Telecom, thus the roaming options and resources dedicated to Zone 1 will no longer be available in Monaco. The standard prices will be the ones from Zone 2 for Voice & SMS and Zone 5 for internet and roaming.
Since Monaco Telecom is the main telecommunications provider in the Principality of Monaco, a significant capital increase over the next couple of months is expected. Although the company is small, approximately 300 employees they have big plans. The main priority for 2017 is customer oriented and they are working on improving both their mobile and landline services.

Monaco Telecom are also preparing for the arrival of the 5th generation of wireless systems.
According to The Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance, 5G will focus on allowing higher number of mobile users per area unit, and allowing a higher or unlimited consumption of data. The new generation of wireless systems will play an important role in making the Internet of Things (IoT) a reality.
